Why do people have a hard time forgiving?

I sometimes wonder why this happens. Is it because they feel awkward after confronting each other? Or is it just because of that stupid little thing called P-R-I-D-E? Why can’t they just simply shake hands or hug each other to decrease the temperature of a cold war? But what if they’ve already done that act and still nothing happens? Would they continue ignoring each other like air or would one of them find the courage to break the glass between them and forget their problem? When things go wrong like this, people get sometimes confused in solving this what they call P-R-O-B-L-E-M. If you already gave your sincere sorry to the one you hurt don’t expect that your enemy will readily accept it and understand you. Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time and be patient to wait for that time when all wounds are already healed. Take it slowly. Your enemy loves you and it hurts them the wrong things you have done to them that they only cry silently so that no one can watch the tears that fall and not realizing, those tears are made from the pent-up annoyance or even anger towards you but still considers you as one of their bestest friend so that you yourself can grow up and realize your own mistakes. Forgiveness may not erase the past but it may enlarge your future so forgive all who have offended you, not for them, but for yourself. But if you’re as stubborn as the hardest rock on earth that you can’t even forgive and forget then pick one. It wouldn’t hurt would it? But give time to one another so that you yourselves could think of the different ways you have done and when the right time comes you can already accept one another whole-heartedly.
